Friday June 27th
6:30pm - Meatless pasta dinner @ the Huntington State Park pavilion.
6:30pm - 9:00pm - Registered athletes can pick-up their race packets, at the dinner.
Saturday June 28th
5:30am - 7:15am - Registered athletes can pick-up their race packets.
7:30am - San Rafael Classic Sprint Triathlon Begins.
Venue
The 2008 San Rafael Classic Sprint Triathlon will be held at the Huntington Lake State Park, located 2 miles north of the town of Huntington, Utah. The Bike and Run races will proceed North from the State Park on Mohrland Road.

Huntington State Park has modern ADA compliant facilities including; restrooms with flushing toilets, showers, cooking facilities, picnic areas, beverage machines, campsites for trailers or tents, boat ramps, boat docks, and a Kids dock too!
Events
Events will begin on Friday night, June 27th at the state park, with a meatless pasta dinner and live entertainment by local artist Shaun Tomsich.
All registered athletes (regardless of age) will have FREE admittance to the dinner, and non-registered family & friends are also welcome to attend.
Non-registered individuals will be $7.00 per adult, and $5.00 per child 12 yrs old or younger.
The race will begin Saturday morning, June 28th at 7:30am, at the Huntington Lake State Park boat ramp!
Race Packets
Race packets will be available for pick-up at The Huntington State Park Pavilion during the following times:
Friday June 27th
From about 5:30pm - 9:00pm, during the dinner.
Saturday June 28th
From about 5:30am to 7:15am, prior to the race.
Event t-shirts are reserved for registered athletes!
Extra souvenir t-shirts are available for purchase when you register for the San Rafael Classic, on the Active.com website.
They will also be available for purchase at the Huntington State Park, during the race packet pick-up times.
Race Rules
Race rules apply to each and every registered participant! No exceptions!
Only registered adult athletes will be allowed to enter the transition area, NO family members or friends!
Registered Kids Tri athletes who need assistance, may have ONE parent or legal guardian, assist them inside the transition area, during their transition. There will be no loitering in the transition area, after the kids have made their transition.
There will be absolutely NO riding bicycles in the transition area.
Every rider will have a buckled, ANSI approved hard shell helmet on, before they will be allowed to ride. Any rider found with their helmet unbuckled during the race, will have a 2 minute penalty added to their time.
Drafting will not be tolerated! Anyone caught drafting will have a 2 minute penalty added to their time. Riders must leave two bike lengths between themselves and the bike ahead!
A brightly colored swim cap will be provided for each swimmer. These must be worn while in the water.
Race Details
EMS personnel will be manning Watercraft, OHV's, Ambulances, and Aid Stations, along each route.
Professional bicycle technicians will be on hand, to provide simple bike repair.
Sweep vehicles will will be patrolling routes to assist athletes who are unable to continue, off the course. Please Note: All athletes assisted by sweep vehicles, will be disqualified from the race.
The bike and run routes are paved, and will be closed to vehicle traffic during the race.
Huntington Lake will be closed to the general public, during the swim portion of the event.
A microchip timing system will be used for our event. Milliseconds will be managing race timing.

The San Rafael Race Committee reserves the right to change, modify, or cancel any or all aspects of the San Rafael Classic Sprint Triathlon, or portions there of, without notice, if deemed necessary by the race committee, to ensure the safety of the registered athletes, event personnel, county or state employees, or the general public. Registration fees are non-refundable, NO EXCEPTIONS. The San Rafael Classic Sprint Triathlon is a fund raising event for the Emery County Sheriff's Search & Rescue Team, a not-for-profit public safety organization. The San Rafael Classic Sprint Triathlon is organized by the Emery County Search & Rescue Team, and is co-organized by the Emery County Recreation District which provides liability insurance for this event.
