Junior Triathlon
The Junior Triathlon will begin with a 100 yard swim in Huntington Lake, then continue with
a 2 mile bike ride, and finish with a 1/2 mile run through beautiful Huntington State Park.

All courses will be CLOSED COURSES, and the routes provide parents with a ton of great photo
opportunities!
The Kids Event will begin immediately after the Triathlon, Duathlon, and Team Relay events are completed.
The Kids get the FREE pasta dinner, and the race packet with their event t-shirt, event water bottle, swim cap, and
lots of other goodies!

Registration is limited to athletes between the ages of 7 and 17, and every junior athlete
will get a certificate for competing!

is the FIRST priority at the San Rafael Classic.
Please be aware of and observe our
safety policies!
Following our policies helps keep your kids safe!
The Junior Triathlon is NOT a USAT sanctioned event.
Lifeguards, EMS Personnel, Search & Rescue Team Members, and State Parks Personnel will
observe the swimming events. They will be stationed with rescue vehicles on both land and water.
The Junior Swim is held in a shallow protected bay just east of the boat ramp.
Brightly colored swim caps MUST be worn while in the water.
Kids MUST wear lifejackets while in the water.
Only ONE parent or legal guardian is allowed to help inside the transition area, during their kids transition.
Many of the bikes used are very expensive, so there will be absolutely NO loitering in the Transition Area.
Helmets WILL be used during the bike ride.
Helmets must fit, be ansi approved, and buckled while riding.
A 2 minute penalty will be added to any rider caught without a buckled helmet!
Drafting other bikes will NOT be tolerated.
Bike speeds must be controlled at all times.
